Summary
The Global Media Organization as TV Network(s) and Digital Media Platforms is seeking creative, energetic, social media savvy individuals to join our expanding Digital team. The media conglomerate is a non-profit, multimedia broadcaster that provides news and information and engages with audiences in the Middle East and North Africa through television, radio and digital properties. Positions are available in locations throughout the Maghreb and in the U.S.
The media conglomerate is looking for Assignment Editors to oversee and manage a team of Community Managers engaging with target audiences on Facebook and other platforms. The Assignment Editor-Community exercises sound editorial judgment and works to create an active engagement to stimulate discussion and exchange on critical issues. The primary duties and responsibilities of the Assignment Editor – Community Maghreb, Rabat Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Mauritania
include, but are not limited to the below:
Duties
-
Leading a team of Community Managers, monitoring on-line activities and assigning the creation of original engagement content to Community Manager team

Guiding and leading team to utilize services such as YouTube, Google, Facebook, Twitter, and others to tell stories most effectively and to increase engagement
-
Ensuring team’s adherence to editorial standards of balance and objectivity and copyright restrictions
-
Leading team to encourage innovation and creative thinking to maximize engagement appropriately
-
Motivating, monitoring performance, and providing feedback to team members to ensure quality, timeliness and consistency of content
-
Guiding content placement strategy in order to maximize impact
-
Coordinating closely with members of the social media and technical support team to effectively troubleshoot issues as they emerge
Required
-
At least a B.A., preferably in Journalism
-
5+ years professional experience in social media or related field, preferably using technology in a news, information or marketing environment; at least 2 years supervisory
-
Fluency in Arabic and strong English skills -- fluency in French a plus
-
Proficiency in the use of standard Windows-based software and the Internet.

Strong editorial and organizational skills
-
Competency in modern journalism tools including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp, Google Hangout, Snap Chat, PollDaddy, Wordpress.

Job Summary
The global broadcasting and digital media networks are seeking creative, energetic, social media savvy individuals to join our expanding Digital team. The organization is a non-profit, multimedia broadcaster that provides news and information and engages with audiences in the Middle East and North Africa through television, radio and digital properties. Assignment Editor positions are available in Rabat and in the U.S.
The media conglomerate of diverse broadcast and digital media properties is looking for Assignment Editors to lead and oversee a team of Reporters in development and publishing of original reporting and content in a variety of journalistic forms. The Assignment Editor-Contest selects, assigns, edits, and approves posting of content designed to engage audience and stimulate discussion on a broad spectrum of political, social, and cultural issues relevant to audiences across the Maghreb region. The primary duties and responsibilities of the Assignment Editor-Content include, but are not limited to:
Duties
-
Assigning Reporters original written, video, and alternative engagement content to inform and engage audiences across the Maghreb region
-
Editing, and approving all content to ensure news reports, photographs, features and interviews comply with the Network’s Journalistic Code of Ethics, are accurate, are well-organized and grammatically sound
-
Leading and motivating team to ensure fresh, mission-driven, high quality content is produced and available timely
-
Consistently providing sound editorial judgment and modeling professional accountability and integrity
-
Demonstrating initiative and creative thinking to develop new story forms, editorial campaigns and alternative approaches to improve mission delivery
-
Taking initiative to identify strengths and weaknesses in team; recommending and implementing plans for training where appropriate
-
Informing leadership of all current and emerging issues related to the new digital property
-
Fostering communication and cooperation within team and across the Digital department
-
Ensuring establishment and maintenance of a professional, accountable work environment
-
Motivating, monitoring performance, and providing feedback to team members to ensure quality and consistency of content
Required
-
At least a B.A., preferably in journalism or related field
-
7+ years of professional experience in news or feature writing, at least 2 years supervisory
-
Strong news judgment, management, leadership and organizational skills
-
Mastery of Arabic and fluency in English - fluency in French a plus
-
Competency in modern journalism tools including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Google, YouTube
-
A well-informed understanding of Middle East current events, especially in the Maghreb region and familiarity with international developments.

Willingness to support a 24/7 broadcast environment
