Public Relations Specialist 
Mergers & Acquisitions

Location: New York, NY – Midtown Manhattan

The Firm: Multinational every major global capital and related business centers

 

Compensation: Base salary $80,000 to $90,000 and bonus based on one to two years of realted experience. Summary: The Public Relations Specialist will report to the Firm’s Global Marketing and Communication Department leadership.  This position is for a PR Specialist with M&A, Finance or related exposure in a financial institution or law firm.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the collaboration of mass media and review of daily news releases in the press related to mergers and acquisitions and other transactions of competitors for financing of transactions in capital markets, private equity and corporate finance

  • Assist in general news monitoring, related to the Firm, as well as monitoring industry-specific publications related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions and related financial matters

  • Support PR activities and respond to interview requests; prepare and facilitate executive interviews with the press, draft firm press releases and provide guidance to executives as necessary

  • Familiar with maintaining highly confidential Corporate, Legal, Finance and or M&A, Capital Markets and or Private Equity information prior to release date.  

  • Share insight with the Firm’s marketing staff.

  • Manage Press Interviews and logistics

  • Conducts research on media outlets and reporters to aid in outreach and to prepare executives for press interviews

  • Create media lists and general media outreach related to the firms’ initiatives

  • Assists in handling topic-specific media analysis and other research projects

  • Heavy media tracking within multiple disciplines

  • Place bylined articles and submit Firm-authored client mailings for republication with various media outlets

 

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of (1-2) one to two years of related public relations or corporate communications experience working in a large law firm or substantial financial institution with exposure to M&A, Capital Markets, Corporate Finance or Private Equity

  • A minimum of 3 years, of total work experience

  • Able to work on multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines

  • Excellent writing and editorial skills

  • An attention to detail without losing sight of strategic goals

  • Think creatively and pragmatically; for a sophisticated corporate audience

  • Able to organize/prioritize work as part of a team or independently

  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating, special event, press conferences and business needs

  • The ability to maintain highly confidential M&A, Corporate Law, Finance, Capital Markets and or Private Equity information prior to the press release date or transaction that could affect the stock market.
